I've got one, but it doesn't have the PTO in it anymore. And it has 600+ hp.

Used to be a few of them around with V8 engines. Most found a belt driven governor to put on them, not sure where they got those. Some M's and F30's had them so they could pull a 4 bottom plow instead of 3. Seems they had problems keeping them cool if they worked them hard.
I think they made their own backing plates to attach them to the bell housing.
Definitely can be done. Widening the frame rails will make it easier.
