Statesville, NC | I liked the John Deere utility tractors when they were new in the 70's, 80's. They had good hydraulics and power steering, easy to operate. The problem I've seen is the closed center hydraulic system doesn't age well. They get some internal leaks, and that causes them to be hard to crank over. There's fewer mechanics every day that know them well. Based on the numbers out there, and OEM and aftermarket parts support, I would recommend a Ford or Massey Ferguson. You need to study the models a little to be sure to get the features you want, like independent PTO. | |
