Not only dangerous but extremely disheartening, sad and infuriating. Having two of my closest friends in law enforcement I am privy to some of what they go through secondhand. They say the adults are dangerous but it is the children that break your heart.

If the general public knew a modicum of what they go through day in and day out they would double their pay and cut their hours in half. I truly don’t know what drives them to be in harms way and see the things they see. Sure there are bad law enforcement officers like in any occupation. But by and large those I personally know are giants to me. This can be extended to all first responders because they are involved in a lot of circumstances law enforcement are as well.

I do it to hopefully put out a fire before it gets out of hand and burns up houses . My son is absolutely obsessed by it . He wants to help people. One of my son’s instructors did get shot . He’s ok but don’t know other details. He’s been warned about a child , I have as well . Neither of us have seen that yet . Son is full EMT , not full firefighter yet . In school and doing good . He is going paramedic after he gets hired , full time as most departments will pay for it .
They are very HARD on them in school . The instructors flat out say lots will quit . Lots do quit . I don’t think it can be much worse than the ambulance. The ambulance sent several home .
