They both get the same free choice hay in feeders this time of year. The only issue is if I see a heifer trying to suck on her cow and the cow doesn't put an end to it, usually with a swift kick, then I separate them. But they still both get the same hay.
And cows don’t need free choice hay. But heifers need good groceries because they are still growing. |
