I've had in a mix a couple of times now and not had a problem with voles.
This past year I had to roller/crimp it right before planting because it was so tall and thick. Once it was laid down I was able to plant through it without an issue. The other time I had it sprayed off before it was in the reproductive stage and it wasn't too viney yet.
