Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | The other day as I left my 2019 Ford Edge in the parking lot for a tax appointment, I looked for my FOB to take it with me so the car couldn't be started in my absence. I couldn't find it, so I went in to the appointment, came back out later, car was still there, crawled in and drove away.
When I got back home, I performed a rather extensive search in any and all compartments looking for the FOB. I felt around under the seats etc. with no success. I knew the FOB was inside somewhere since everything worked as it should when the FOB is in range.
Two of my Great Nephews happened to bring back an auger to my place so I had them look around the car. One found the FOB just barely inside the vent on the floor under the driver's seat. This was why I wasn't able to feel for it. Had it vibrated back into the vent further we might not ever have found it. I guess eventually the battery would have run down and the other FOB could have been in complete control.
Anyway, lost is found and the FOBs work as before.
Just a place to check if you ever "lose" yours inside your vehicle.
