Buying cheap seed that may or may not be suited for your area is risky. I’d dip my toes in the water by buying a few bags for this year and evaluate the performance, then proceed accordingly for next year. If 68-35 is the top dog in your area try a few bags of it along side Epleys or whatever you get and see what happens.

You mention cheap seed like it’s a derogatory term! I can tell you that price doesn’t mean cheap genetics. In fact I will come to your farm with free seed to do a side by side. I’m confident in my genetics that you can put it up against anything you choose.

Nothing against cheaper seed. Some of it is cheap because it’s older genetics, which would seemingly put you at a disadvantage compared to those planting the newest genetics. It’s not always the case, and I realize that. The real issue here is suitability of hybrids for someone in the south. I just get nervous when guys take advice from people hundreds of miles away on what hybrids to plant. Seed selection is a local issue. Thanks for the reply. Enjoy your weekend.
