I’ve had this conversation with an elderly landlord. He is of the mindset, no way, no how his farm will be sold while he’s alive. I respect his position. His son, non farmer, will own the land in the future and much of the same position. I get along with both great and am happy to be renting, for now. Here’s where it gets interesting. Grandson in law is a “wealth management specialist” and has been pitching what a low return farm land is.
Be careful what I wish for….but I’m hoping grandson in law can do some convincing in the future. And then the question becomes…..mikado, can you write the check that it’ll take?
