The slugs will survive as eggs.We are about 18 inches minimum of frost at this point headed towards feet,, in Maine as zero snow.You have more slugs due to the neo-nic insectide treated seeds used in the past few years..This kills the main insect that used to eat slug eggs.IDK the answer but I do know that perimeter spread slug bait early in the season works well.Ours mainly come from the border duff.A rotation of non neo-nic seeds maybe..
