| I agree it is too small but its all i am allowed space wise. The lot is only 53 x 99 to start with and a 800 to 90 ft house ploppe in the middle. I want 3 individual doors but garage guy said not enuf room. I have to stay 5 foot from house and backyard fences. The 20 foot wide is the depth to park inside because i have to back out and around to drive forward out the driveway between neighbors house and mine.24 foot deep doesnt give me room to back out and around
I wanted to put a bigger double garage thats taller and use auto lifts to park two cars high but garage guy says permitted no higher or bigger than my small house. If I attach to house I have to bring whole house up to code.
By the time I wire garage, insulate and heat/cool it i will have at least 60 k in this too small of garage. Besides losing a big lawn shed storage to boot. I looked for years for this house, but they have very few homes here with any old garages because of these darn small lots. Besides I am not getting any younger and cancer alredy came calling twice last year. My time is ticking away so many projects and so little time. Already had claim for 6k for hail damage to my good car. | |
