On a smaller scale....here in Illinois you can vote on a design for a new state flag. Why we need a new flag....I don't know. But rest assured someone someplace (also a government official somewhere) is going to make a boat load of money off the deal. (new flags & various paraphernalia will need replaced with the new flag design=$$$).
