That is one option. To be able to hook a monitor to it, you would need to have the short harness that is typically in the cab that goes from monitor to corner post. Also there is a plug on the harness to add the CAN terminator.
I talked to a very knowledgeable ag consultant (you know who you are) today that answered my questions and gave some good advice. Yes, the CAN terminator is required if fabricating a harness between the receiver and the monitor. But, instead of making a harness, he suggested making an extension from the receiver (mounted on a pole as the base) to a JD tractor with a monitor inside the cab. Just plug the extension into the normal spot under the cab roof. This would give you the ability to make changes to the receiver including survey lat/long or towers. Unplug once done and let the receiver work as the base station.
