I can't remember for sure when I first saw one. It was either late 60's or early 70's at Kansas State fair when I was in high school or shortly after. It was on display at an equipment booth. Was an impressive tractor for the day.

Way bigger than anything even imaginable for use in our area of SE Kansas at the time when a 4020 was a big tractor (were only 2 5020 sold in our immediate area that I know of). Now it would be just big enough to pull the larger planters in the area but too small for big tillage. Times change!

Seems like it was a hillside version but can't remember for sure. I may have seen picture of that later in a magazine. I do remember picking up a piece of literature on it.

At that time before big farm shows became popular, state fairs were the place to see the latest and greatest in machinery. Always looked forward to that FFA Vo-Ag trip.
