Monticello IL
I don't think GRIP is a good option for anyone. Playing the county gambling game isn't insurance in my eyes. A person is better off with an insurance policy that protects their production. Last year I lost a potential customer because he wanted to use GRIP......this year he has told me that he is going to sign up with me for his crop insurance.

I will agree with the trending with the county idea if your looking to get a payment in bad production years, but GRIP works better for those who have the best ground. Because these people can collect on GRIP in years when there farms didn't have any reduced production, but the county did have a reduction in production.
