I did that with a few boxcars, but could do any work needed on them. Honestly they weren't kept up that bad and other than cosmetics, worked fine and saved a ton buying southern belle's................with that said, I don't know if I would approach it the same with with the newer electronically controlled stuff, controllers and wiring issues could cost alot to fix, and controllers I can't fix myself. Looking for one or two more older Deeres myself down south, but the numbers haven't hit my target yet, but will probably with some time.

I can turn wrenches and machine parts, so I don't look at a southern tractor much different from one off a local dairy all clapped out here.............atleast down south they aren't using block heater in a can most of the year to get it running and from my experiences they do keep the AC in top shape which is a plus, here the doors and windows come off and end up who knows where.
