I think vehicles have tracked or logged speed for awhile without gps or cell phone being tied in. But needed physical access to diagnostic port. So when was it common on vehicles to have some sort computer on board that could log readings I don’t know.

Had to look it up but Onstar started on Cadillacs in 1997. So that was the start off real time tracking i would think.


When did the gps tracking start in fords?
