The companies that have more than one line mean that they have pursued cheaper cloud services where server farms are closer to that business's user location. Some of the bigger companies probably use more than one cloud server companies because they different locations across countries.

Companies and governments have moved from purchasing their own servers with all the maintenance and personnel to these cloud services. These cloud services/server farms are cheaper and offer redundancy of data.
Do you use 1drive, dropbox, or any other online backup services, then you are connected to these companies or smaller companies that do the same thing.
If you want proof look up how to build a home server or NAS. Things can get complicated and costly very quickly.
