Haleiwa - 1/14/2025 06:07 Planning on building a shop this summer. It will be a metal/wood hybrid frame on a two foot high stem wall. Which would be best, pour a footer and stem wall and then the floor, pour the slab a few feet oversize and then pour the stem wall on top, or pour the slab and lay block for the wall? 


Footing then stem wall on that two feet above ground level, then wood/steel on top of stem wall. As mentioned, insulation down to footing and 2 to 4 ft out, two feet below finished soil surface. That'll keep frost out of your building.
