Depending on how the planter is set up you should be fine other than maybe a little slow to raise on the ends. I pulled a 24 row 1770 for years with a 8400, and never had a problem. I have since moved to a 1770nt with ccs , hydraulic drive, hydraulic fertilizer pump, etc using 5 remotes plus the power beyond and I doubt the old 8400 could do it.
Any particular reason for using a hydraulic pump for fertilizer? As long as the pto is available, I’d use it for the fertilizer pump, freeing up some hydraulic capacity to be used elsewhere. But that’s me.
