NE Iowa | I went to midland GMRS a couple of years ago, and have been really happy. Have to remember, they make several different wattage radios, and also have several different antennas. That can make a huge difference in range. I am in NE Iowa in the rolling hills by Decorah for reference. I have 3 watt handhelds that I use, and they can struggle within a mile or 2 as the crow flies. Inside all the equipment we have 50 watt radios and 6db gain antennas and we can easily get 20 miles, even up to 30 on a couple of occasions. | |
