Iowa
Really probably gonna wade outside of “market talk” with this comment BUT…. I listened to a guy on the radio that was involved with ai. He claimed as ai gained traction that it was going to know what we did before we actually do it. Each person has a pattern, and yes we can choose to deviate from it, but as data gets better ai will understand how to read our intentions almost like a book - not just for marketing, but even day to day decisions. Kinda like the deal where they hide a picture of a coke every 100 frames in a movie - coke sales skyrocket. I remember 3-4 years ago when phones started listening to us - if you talked about something with someone it would likely show up in your ads the next time you opened your browser. Well last week I was thinking of something, I hadn’t ever googled it or talked about it with anyone - opened my browser to look for it and exactly what I had in my head popped up. Could it be chance? Possible but highly unlikely. This stuff is getting scary good.

So as we give little bits of data away with yield monitors, climate subscriptions where we don’t own the data — who does? Heck even my car insurance gives a discount based off tracking data - speeds, acceleration, braking, phone pickups - right now I save 470/ year for sharing this with them - so it’s obviously beneficial to them - are they selling this? What is the value of that information to end users, or our competition. Are they using it now? What will it be worth to them? With the right information I’d guess ai will be able to nail national yield just off monitor data sent to third party. Every piece of data is worth something if you have the right application to use it. We’re not even talking about public info yet, just what we’re voluntarily giving them.
