Central Nebraska | I'll be 47 later this month and hurt less than when I was 21 and in college. I'm in better physical condition, stronger, and eat better. My sciatica doesn't bother me and I don't go to the chiropractor on a regular basis.......but sometimes go just because we have some common hobbies that need discussing. My tricks.....stay active, avoid foods with added sugar 5-6 days out of the week (or always) and limit/eliminate liquid calories. Learn that you won't out run your mouth (physically and socially) and make the hard decision to be uncomfortable at times. I work out 4-5 days/week this time of year. 3-4 days in the summer although there are a few weeks in there were I skip.
Since high school my weight has seen a 50 lb swing.....170 to 210 to 195 to 165 to 195 to 165. Right now I'm at 185 but my exercise has transitioned from cardio to strength over the past 15 months......Edit to add......some of those swings were intentional......even the weight gain this last time.....I don't function well at 165.
If you think you're too busy to exercise you are just fooling yourself. Your farm will still be there if you carve out 45 minutes a day to workout. You will set a good example for your family. You will sleep better and be more productive when you are working. You will go to the doctor less. Those who think they don't have the time are only fooling themselves.
