SOIL | What planter and combine do you have? If it's all Deere, and less than 15 years old, get a Deere system.
Anything else, get Ag Leader as it's probably the best mixed fleet system. Trimble is cheap, stay away unless you have a good Agco dealer. Precision Planting is popular on planters, but then you're adding multiple monitors which may add expense and unnecessary hardware. And it has no steering.
Whatever you pick, stick with it! Don't do what I finally got away from. At one point, we had about one of everything because it's what was cheap, came with the machine or implement, the neighbor didn't need it, good buddies with a new dealer in town... It was a mess to sort out when the last guy left the farm and I stepped into his position. Now I'm all Deere for the planter, sprayer, applicators and combines, but our tillage machines are all CNH Pro 700s for guidance. Would not suggest anything CNH btw. | |
