Well…old doesn’t mean “no good”. Probably better quality tools than mid range new stuff. Also….neat to make things for family using family stuff. You have a neat hobby that must bring you satisfaction and accomplishment. Great to have something productive to do in “off time”. Simple finish with nice appearance.
