I think mine was the same as my 4-H fair project: Dairy cow. The main objective was record keeping and cost analysis. Recorded inputs and figured profit. That was almost 40 years ago. My kids didn't do FFA, but were already active in 4-H.

You really need to tailor the project to fit the kid and the local area. If they are into tech, maybe something to do with installing/calibrating gps equipment? Maybe do grid soil sampling? Mapping fields?

Are they detail oriented? Maybe they could set up a service to wash/wax equipment. Powerwash houses. Lawn care. Mow waterways.

Mechanical: oil changes, grease equipment

Artist/creative: Use a drone to take pics of farmsteads. Website creation. Photograph livestock, people, equipment.

Business: Cut flowers, sweet corn, roadside stand.
