. | There were a lot of 990s sold in western WI too. We had one for years. There were a few of the larger 1210 and 1212 , but as you mention, not nearly as many. I have one of the last of the David Browns; branded as a 1690 Case, but clearly stamped with David Browns on the engine block. Like the old 990 it's super easy on fuel, but I swear they went backwards 50 years in the shifting pattern (I have a standard synchro shift) and the oddball pto engagement. Still it's cheap hp and does the job. Parts can be tricky to find though.
Edit, it's also my little grandson's favorite tractor. 2 years ago after I was finally able to get moving again, I took him for a ride on it. He can climb up and down the steps, and loves sitting on it. Points out the brakes, clutch, shift lever, etc. Good thing his legs are too short to reach the pedals.
