| GRIP works for those who trend with the county. If you have poor yields, APH (MPCI, RA & CRC) insures less bushels/dollars per acre. In fact, sometimes farmers with low yields are good canditates for GRIP, becuase they are able to insure many more dollars per acre than with a poor yield history.
Again, GRIP is all about trending with the county. Attached are two examples. On one, I make the farmers yield twenty bushels higher than the NASS yields, and on the other the yields are twenty bushels less than the NASS average. In both cases, GRIP performs well, because these "hypothetical" farmers trend with the county.
