I wish I had stuck with Quickbooks Pro 2012. Could install Windows 7 on a virtual machine within any modern operating system and use that virtual machine only for QB.
You would have your data forever. No one could mess it up for you.
Yes, you don’t get auto import on bank statements or credit cards and you have to figure out a payroll solution but it’s simple and cheap.
As it is I’m on QB Pro 2021 and I’m just hoping they never force an automatic update to it forced me into the subscription model somehow. I think I’m probably safe but who knows.
I did stick with QB Pro 2012. When it came time to upgrade from Windows 7, I installed a Windows 10 on a new separate hard drive in the master position and kept the Windows 7 drive as a slave. Can boot either drive in seconds and have access to all the book keeping data back to 2012 when I started. Of course no more payroll and entering bank statement data is now manual. | |
