NW Iowa
Everything is paid for. So i get to cheat....
Wean 757lb steers and 675 heifers with no creep or implants.
Selling at all time highs and no death loss.
Pasture will run 2 pair/ acre
One pair/ acre and i can hay all the winter feed
Poor pasture you just as well dry lot. Lot's of people think pasture is cheap, not if its crappy....
Cornstalks are $.025/lb
real good hay is $.0625/lb
Silage is around $.025/lb
DDGS is around $.0725lb.
Running TMR and changing feed to match cows needs, can save big money.
