Iowa | Mrs. B - I had my appt. with Dr. Vos today, who is in the same clinic as Dr. Viner. I made the appt. with him because he comes to a satellite office in a nearby hospital. My diagnosis was angioedema - now he will try to figure out what is causing it. He took 3 vials of blood to do allergy tests and also to test for a rare possibility of a C-1 inhibitor deficiency. He said the blood test is much more reliable and given my severe reaction to "something" it is much safer. Something I didn't know was that if I ever have to use the epi-pen, I still need to get to the hospital as it only lasts about 5 minutes - a good thing to know!! He was very nice and was optimistic about finding a cause. Most likely will need weekly shots :( , but if it fixes the problem, I am o.k. with it. Thanks for the excellent suggestion - I will let you know in 3 weeks what develops. | |
