Eastern Half of Kansas
After going through a miserable weather and facilities in 2011 were set up pretty decent now on the building, just hot wire yet in front of barn. Have an open front South Pole barn with 40x50’ or 40x60 depending on how many bays we pen off. Calving pen and other pen inside. Feed ration outside at 4:00-5:00. At dust, feed a few buckets of grain inside barn in portable bunks, after 5-10 minutes of eating let out heifers showing absolutely no bag. When you go check at night the heifers you need to see are penned up, no looking around. Heifers are still out on grass trap during day, walking and moving to water. This year if doesn’t rain might water tank near building though. Still can move almost 1/4 mile from barn.
