McCanna, ND | Can you partition off a portion of the shed to keep the extremely close heifers inside? Keeping them out of the wind and a few cows inside will probably keep it warm enough with plenty of bedding.
Girlfriends folks don’t turn the heater on until -10 or so and the wind has to be blowing. Uninsulated 40x96x15 high shed with a dozen cows that stay in overnight on average. I would heat it to below freezing still, to warm is as bad as to cold if the cattle are used to living outside. | |
