West Central IA | I like my Haybuster 2650. It will do a decent job of grinding if you feed it a little slower. I grind hay, stalks nand really like how if there is any white mold in the bales it will pretty much get rid of it. I too have a Kelly Ryan feeder wagon and will mix ground hay with some silage. I prefer to grind a bale in a windrow in the field when the ground is frozen and then feed some silage on top of that. That way nobody has competition to eat. A good investment for feeding cows.
I might add that I do remove the net wrap from all my bales to feed. The Web in the haybuster allows me to remove the net from stalk bales as well. Takes a little more time, but then I know my cows are eating well and not plugging their guts with pieces of net wrap.
