They don't have winters like we get. We freeze solid half the year that retains moisture and our snow moisture stays put until just before we need it. Even southern Alberta has been above freezing all month and whatever moisture they had since October will be all evaporated off. Friend down there saw a neighbor out cultivating on Boxing Day.
