Only $2 a dozen!?!?! They are $5 in the local grocery store and Walmart.
Maybe they're the loss leader to get popcorn customers in the door? Local grocery wasn't making $ on the 99¢ per lb chicken drumsticks either.
We sold them for $2 just to get rid of them.
The chickens are never going to be profitable here on paper. The benefit from them is the 10 and 7 year old learn to take care of them and the 10 year old is “in charge” of the chickens.
