Nobody said anything about losing it. Losing it isn’t what I meant. I meant people who expand on the wealth that they started with. People on here seem think they were given a gift that they didn’t deserve, but most every one of them, if they could would do the same thing.
I get what your question is. Like many posts lately, it spins out of control to a whole different topic.
All I can say is this: I'm the fifth generation to operate our farm. Maybe the last. My Grandfather and Dad both hung with it when other relatives didn't. I sincerely appreciate the opportunities the previous generations allowed me to enjoy, and I have tried to capitalize on those opportunities to allow future generations to prosper as well. I'm hoping they can grab the ball and run with it as well. If that makes me a "brat" or undeserving in some's eyes, so be it. I won't lose a minute's sleep over it either.
There can be an ugly side to the usually great opinions on Ag Talk- the generational thing can be the worst.
