South Central Iowa | If it's not a prolonged cold event, and you can get 110v power close, I've used aquarium bubblers to keep a hole open down to right at zero. No cord in the pen, no heater to short out, just a tube with air rolling the water to keep it open. I used two for two winters and got along very well, compared to plug in heaters. If there's no power near they make 12 volt bubblers, deep cycle battery would last a long time. | |
