Everyone can compete, just have to have the fortitude. Once again, some one insinuating that life is unfair.

Grandpa giving jr any amount of paid for dirt at all is a massive leg up for someone with much brains and business since. Having access to land off the get go is a tremendous advantage. It took me 20 years to farm full time. While I saw neighbors and old college classmates do right after graduation. I’d love to claim to be self made, but most of my rental farms would have honestly been rented to my dad or uncle I bet if I wasn’t farming. I got the fruits of their good name and good job done as well as my grandfathers. So land owners saw someone young doing a good job and offered me a chance. I wouldn’t have those opportunities to rent land if it wasn’t for my prior generation having a good name in the neighborhood and doing a clean job. Idk how someone else who has no farming family gets in without a “sponsor”. It’s got to be a very low percentage in this day and age. I tip my hat at anyone who can say they did it without someone’s help.
