| I was going to stay out of this argument till your last statement where you address some of the problem. First thing I’d recommend is to quit having the barn do any vaccinations. Get them home asap, let rest 12-24 hours and hit them with a solid protocol set up with your vet. I could recommend what I do but would mean little not being from your area. Sale barns, as good as many are, vaccinating cattle is not their job and don’t believe they take the time or interest in doing it correctly. Also much harder for the calf to have a good response when instantly getting hauled after vaccination. The nasal vaccines are a very good tool to get in the system the fastest but waiting 14-18 days to use an injectable is not smart in fact I’d say its about the worst time to vaccinate them. I avoid doing anything with them from days 7-20. Calves like you are talking id hit at 12-24 hours with nasal and injectable and booster at 30 days with second round. I wish you luck! | |
