Subject: Holstein steers corn efficiency

Does the saying still hold true it takes 100 bushel of corn to finish a Holstein steer?
If so the bigger they get the less efficient they are, so how many bushels are generally required from 1000 lbs to the finish line of approximately 15-1600?
Implants have made a huge impact as well, so does anyone have some real world numbers they care to share?
