Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio | Seems like everyone I see get out of dairy farming into beef are doing it as a retirement. Kind of like a 85 year old would want to do. I’d think that would be a tough transition and support three generations. The ones I’m thinking of go from milking as many as a couple hundred then get into cow calf operation. That lifestyle must seem like a cakewalk compared to dairy. I haven’t seen anyone get into feeding fats. But I’d think the economy of scale would make that a tough deal for much more than a retirement type situation also. |
