It really depends on your market. Are you a raising your own calves or buying them.

In my experience colored cattle will finish out before a dairy cross.

One is for milk production, the other for eating.

Angus we have hand fed and finished some in 12-14 months. But they are ornery.

We are not a big cattle operation by any means, but this has been our experience.
