Basically i have been looking at these results and they dont make much sense to me. Its calling for lots of lime in some spots,, none in others, but its excess calcium and mag across the entire field. How can it be calling for 3 or more tons of lime when its excess calcium? This is a river bottom field that borders a creek that frequently floods.
Would you all put lime on this field based on the maps i attached
So who told you to put 3 ton of lime on? What is your base saturation level? How about what is soluble in the soil? Ca. is a double positive element. It is probably fighting with a double negative phos. Balance those and you will gain more calcium and phos, because it is now dropped off the soil collides. Ask yer agronomist what a WATER SOLUBLE EXTRACT TEST is… email me, I will send you one so you know what it is if ya don’t know. It’s time for producers to learn what is on those tests, and not let an N P K salesman ruin your dirt even more! Watch Dr. Elaine Ingham on YouTube and take time to learn! |
