Used to run one everywhere when I used an end wheel drill to plant beans, seemed that was the only way to get any kind of consistent planting depth.
I think the biggest one I’ve seen was 30’, used to be lots of 15, 20, and 25’ Brillions around here. They will help hold soil moisture, and it will roll down the sod clumps some if they aren’t too big. Still a few around here that get used occasionally, mostly ahead of seeding alfalfa.
