SE South Dakota | I didn't read all the above responses so if this was covered, well so be it. Few years ago I was speaking to a fellow that ref's high school basketball in the area and he told of a fan that would just not shut up bad monthing him (ref). Well his solution to this was that at every opportunity he had, ie time outs, between quarters, and such the ref would stand as close to the fan as he could with his back to the stands (heckler) and just stand there until the games started again. It just plain shut the guy up.
Maybe you should try sitting in front of/beside the guy? Don't say a word to him. Carry on as if he isn't there. Might be worth a try. | |
