coast of Maine | If you both worked your entire lives and lived in town,no farm. When it came time to retire would you have a large asset to sell?If you had put your pennies into a retirement account and every Saturday night you got that out and oggled the value.Would you and he be happier if you had created a nice farm worth quite a sum?Every Saturday night you strolled thru and road around what you had created from a life's work?I know that I get absolutely zero thrill out of a sum of $$ in any account but walking on the farm land with my wife is sure thrilling (in a calm way)to me.Just did a stroll last evening, wife and I in an orchard(we planted decades ago)that was a major land purchase in 1989.It is worth 10 times the horrible cost we paid in 1989.Please remember your tax documents are just that,,a calculation of what you owe the feds.IMO many on here give no value to their lives except the $$ . | |
