Yes, after levels re build up to where we want we just do maintenance rates from then on out. Rates are a little complex after that.
What I do is download that years yield data into SMS, then use the yield map to create an rX based on removal rates. For potash I use a 0.25lb/bu/acre. So for 200 bushel corn that comes out to about 50 pounds per acre. And then that is always applied in the fall. I’ve found you get a lot better crop response to fall spread P&K.
What is your optimum ppm you like to shoot for when raising the k level on a field?
