I split applied one farm this year in corn. No P & K preplant vs preplant application. Then when we topdressed the corn I put in P & K with the Urea and AMS. Then right across the fence we did all preplant P and K with none topdressed other than Urea and AMS. The no P & K preplant was a very obvious yield hit but later applied P & K didn't stand out. Not 1000% scientific, and probably the sloppiest data set I've been a part of it was a test none the less. I really thought late season K might stand out. Maybe it would have if we hadn't had such a good corn year.
