Yes that’s probably average to a bit light for our area. The out of area hunters are really pushing the property values up and the taxes are showing it… a lot of it is bringing 3-4 times what it would have even 10 years ago. Oh well… at the end of the day that’s nothing. Within a half hour we have several high dollar lakes where homes are bought for millions and have a million dollar renovation to be used once or twice a year. Some even buy the surrounding houses tear them all down and build a new big house. Then you have the guest house, the boat house, the pontoon, the wake boat, half a dozen jet skis, the half a dozen $100,000 vehicles in the yard. I’m not saying there isn’t plenty of farmers that could afford this lifestyle but you would be surprised at the amount of money floating around outside of ag. Cash and just for funzies. Some of the guys do it just to show off they have that much capital.

To each their own. Would I spend the millions of dollars that way?? Probably not but that’s not my problem to worry about.
