Yes, it can be done, just takes a lot of money. It takes 8lbs of k2o to raise the soil levels 1 ppm. So for instance, if you’re trying to raise the soil levels by 50 ppm, that’s going to take 400 lbs of k2o which equates to around 670 lbs of potash/acre.

This is the part that I think most people miss. Moving the soil test K significantly in a short period of time isn't a matter of putting on a extra 50# of potash for a couple years, it's a matter of putting an extra 100# on every year.

I have had success raising soil test K. I also look at K soil test level compared to crop yield in corn and soybeans and can find correlations pretty easy most of the time. (Leaving out known wet/problem areas obviously)
